Asexuality and Aromance 101

Editor’s Note: In this video, aromantic people are described as those who don’t seek out romantic relationships with others, implying that aromanticism is a choice. However, as several viewers pointed out and as the author later agreed, that description is incorrect. Aromanticism is not a choice. Rather, it’s when someone does not experience (or experiences very little) romantic attraction for others – which can range from having crushes to falling in love.

What do you know about asexuality? What about aromance? A lot of folks are out of the loop on what those terms really mean.

So here’s a clear break-down of both: what they are, what they aren’t, and some struggles society creates for ace and aro people.

The end of the video can help you start your own conversation, so we can all be more informed and understanding.
