When we launched Everyday Feminism in 2012, we had no idea that in just six years our online magazine would reach over 75 million readers around world.

We’ve been floored by the response and are more energized than ever to keep pushing critical conversations around everyday oppression, privilege, and activism and make them accessible to the general public.

We believe our inside-out educational approach is just the weapon the world needs to fight the ignorance that currently fuels injustice. Our work shines a light on different paths towards personal and social liberation that are accessible, useful, and relevant to everyday people.

In 2018, the United States government is committing massive human rights violations and targeting marginalized communities at every opportunity. In order to see truly transformative change, it’s time for us to take our work to the next level.

Now, more than ever, our communities need support, radical healing, and educational resources. Organizations also need access to trainings to help them transform their structure and work culture to be more equitable and grounded in love, not oppression. Unfortunately, we're unable to provide these essential services within the current scope of our online magazine.

We need to do more.

We’re now ready to take the incredible success we’ve had with the online magazine and bring the same level of scale and ambition to online feminist education and training.

The Vision

In Spring 2018, Everyday Feminism launched a pilot for the School for Social Justice, the first online school for intersectional feminism, with a goal to make radical anti-oppression education accessible to everyone.

By 2020, we want to deliver an engaging and robust educational platform with a full spectrum of offerings for both individuals and organizations. [ADD LIVE EVENTS, ETC, SPICE THIS UP]

Our goal is to serve over 10,000 students and 200 organizations in our first two years alone. This will include thousands of people we’ll support through scholarships who would otherwise have no access to these learning opportunities.

We believe this kind of education and training is where the rubber hits the road in creating deep cultural shifts towards a more radical vision of love and justice.

What We’ve Accomplished So Far

The response to our initial test pilot for the school has been incredibly positive.

We released fifteen on-demand webinars and professional trainings and have already sold access to over 1,600 students and X organizations.

A sample of our organizational clients to date include:

  • Microsoft
  • Cisco Systems
  • Sierra Club
  • National Network to End Domestic Violence
  • Boulder County Government, CO
  • Creative Capital
  • Starting Bloc
  • Portland State University
  • University of Northern Colorado

We accomplished this with no dedicated funding at all, bootstrapping the program and marketing while continuing to run our online magazine.

That’s Not All

We’ve also developed an innovative partnership model that works in collaboration with our course leaders and trainers, almost all of whom are queer, trans, and/or of color.

This has created a critical new ongoing income stream for marginalized activists and trainers who are largely shut out of existing online education spaces like SkillShare.

Why This Will Be A School Like No Other (and is desperately needed)

Imagine a school where:

  • Every course is designed to help liberate you, your workplace, and your community from the deep trauma of systemic oppression.
  • Information is engaging and accessible, smashing the elitist academic educational mold.
  • Course leaders who are teaching the webinars come from the most marginalized communities and have been doing the work on the ground for a long time, sharing their wisdom and insight with compassion.
  • Remote access and scholarships mean no one will be turned away based on their geographic location or lack of funds.
  • Students are investing in community leaders by generating new income and opportunities for marginalized activists and trainers.

We’re thrilled to make this vision a reality — but we need your support to make it happen.

Why This Is The Most Critical Time To Help

The School for Social Justice is on track to be 100% financially sustainable through its own revenue, but we must get to greater scale to make that happen.

Since we don’t have access to millions of dollars (or any dollars) of venture capital to scale up the school, we are looking for donors and social investors to partner with us to bring this vision to life.

There is no more critical time than right now. Your gift will enable us to become financially self-sustaining and give the school the ability to reach to tens of thousands of people in the years ahead.

How You Can Help Right Now
