How To Shift Focus from Compliance to Actually Changing Culture and Values
In this era of #Metoo, #TimesUp and increasing national attention to issues of workplace sexual harassment, we all have a role to play in recognizing, preventing and ending employment-based harassment.
But let’s be honest, how effective are most trainings in actually reducing or eliminating sexual harassment?
Many of us have attended at least one really bad sexual harassment training. There’s the one that required viewing offensive images or videos before even starting to discuss the topic, or the one that advised getting really close to the line without crossing it, or the one that said “we can’t mandate civility.”
This training will be different. Starting from the bedrock principle that we all benefit from workplaces free from harassment, this webinar helps support meaningful long-term change by aiming to address and change culture and values at your organization.
This engaging and practical interactive training, which also meets California harassment training requirements (AB 1825), will explain:
- What’s the scope of the workplace harassment problem?
- Why should we care about stopping workplace harassment?
- What can an employer do immediately to ensure their workplace harassment policies and procedures are effective?
- What can employees do to protect themselves and their colleagues and assert their rights?
This training recognizes the diversity of our workplaces and discusses harassment on bases other than sex, including race, national origin, disability, gender identity, and sexual orientation as well as intersectional harassment.
At this moment in time, we have a chance to create the kind of workplaces we all wish for. Let’s seize this much needed moment and get to work!
