Speaker 1: @bigdaddydurango …This doesn’t… all right.
Speaker 2: “Just saw Olympus Has Fallen.”
Speaker 3: “I want to go buy a gun and kill every fucking Asian.”
Speaker 2: @todays18
Speaker 3: “I’ve never wanted to smack a g–k more in my life. #America #OlympusHasFallen. Two blank emojis.”
Speaker 1: Okay.
Speaker 3: @tdemonico says, “If I see an Asian tonight—”
Speaker 1: “—I might punch them in the face after seeing that movie.” Wait. “#OlympusHasFallen #openyourdamneyes #America.” How does this get four favorites?
Speaker 3: @littlebrum says, “Well, Olympus Has Fallen—
Speaker 1: “—was a damn good movie—”
Speaker 2: “—I would love have killed some of those zipper hats.”
Speaker 3: Umm.
Speaker 2: @bananadream5. “So, I saw Red Dawn…“
Speaker 1: “…I have never been this scared of Asians before.”
Speaker 3: @evamarie27 says, “I now hate all Chinese, Japanese—”
Speaker 2: “—Asians, Korean people. Thanks. #RedDawn #amazingmoviethough”
Speaker 2: @tsleep1010. “Watching Red Dawn made me a little more patriotic…
Speaker 3: “…and reassured me to never eat Asian food again.”
Speaker 2: “#RedDawn”
Speaker 1: Okay, @nbomb. “Oh my God. Invaders in Red Dawn changed from Chinese to North Koreen.” Nice. It said “Koreen.” Could he mean “North Korean?” Great.
Speaker 3: “Good thing that all Asians look alike though, didn’t have to recast or re-shoot.”
Speaker 2: Smiley face.
Speaker 1: @dnezel “Wow! Miss America is a damn dot head.” Oh!
Speaker 3: @dallasrobinson8 says, “I am literally so mad right now…”
Speaker 2: “…An Arab won #MissAmerica.”
Speaker 1: Okay! So she’s Indian. All right.
Speaker 2: @jakeandnick5. “How do fuck ass foreigner win Miss America?”
Speaker 3: “She is a Arab #idiots.” Somebody didn’t get their history on colonization, so…
Speaker 1: Okay @wmfreezer @abc2020. “Nice slap in the face to the people of 9-11. How—”
Speaker 3: “—pathetic #MissAmerica”
Speaker 1: That’s fucked up. What the hell!
Speaker 3: I mean, in a way, sometimes I’m glad we have Twitter, but then sometimes I’m just like—I don’t know. I’m glad that it’s allowing for everybody to have a voice, but I’m glad it’s there to show us that these people still do exist and that something needs to be done about it.
Speaker 2: I think we need to study, and we need to learn. We need to gain more knowledge in terms of judging people, especially distinguish the difference in between cultures and also the histories. I always think of America as such a world coming country and that’s how I feel exactly but these stereotypes, these reactions from the social media make me really upset.
