Why Don’t We Talk About White on White Crime? This Parody Shows the Double Standard

Editor’s Note: This video uses the words “dumb” and “crazy” in an ableist way. While we love the humorous and informative content of the video, we know that ableist language is harmful and we hope that as more and more people learn why, we will collectively erase this language from our vocabulary forever.

Ever been in a conversation about racial violence that got derailed to focus on “black on black crime?”

It happens all the time. But is this tendency really about issues of violence – or is it just a distraction from the truth?

This satire from comedian Kerry Coddett reveals the answer to that question in a hilarious way. As she writes, “Most of the conversation surrounding crime involves black people, who selfishly take all of the credit for being criminals. Blacks are notorious for being called thugs and gangsters, but the real MVPs (Most Violent People) are whites.”

Spread the word about this unspoken tragedy – and help shut down the haters dismissing concerns about racist violence to talk about “black on black crime.”
