Here’s the Perfect Metaphor for Why Victim-Blaming Is Completely Ridiculous

(Content Warning: sexual assault, victim-blaming)

“What was he wearing?” “Was he drinking?” “He should’ve been more careful.”

Sound familiar? Unfortunately, this is how conversations about sexual assault victims play out far too often.

But what would happen if you replaced rape with murder as the subject of this conversation?

A whole lot of absurdity, for a start. This video from Blue Seat Studios takes this simple premise and turns it into a brilliant point about victim-blaming.

Nobody who watches this could deny that this common approach to sexual assault survivors is wrong – so pass it on to help put a stop to victim-blaming.
