Hi, my name is Damian Alonzo, and this just in: Reverse racism isn’t real.
I see you’re already going to click that “dislike” button, but wait, wait, wait, wait. Watch the whole video first, and then you can “dislike” the video. Let me finally get it through everybody’s head, that no, you can’t be racist towards white people.
Hey, hey! Do not hit that “dislike” button. We had a deal. Watch the whole video. Let me explain. And then you can “dislike” it.
Yes, people of color can be racist towards other people of color, but people of color can’t be racist towards white people. You cannot be racist towards white people because to be racist, you need to have two things: “privilege and power.”
Now, yes, dictionary definition of racism is to hate another race, but the sociology definition (shout-out to my mother’s college degree) explains racism as “privilege and power.” And white people have both!
For instance, white people have privilege and power in when they commit crimes and their sentences and punishments are less than those of people of color who committed the same crime. Or when they’re sentenced to only six months in jail for raping a girl. Current events in videos. Woo!
In the 2013 movie Dear White People, it’s easily explained like this:
“The role of counterculture is to wake up the mainstream.”
“I have furniture older than you. Counterculture? Is that what you think this is? Your little show?”
“What about my show?”
“Your show is racist.”
“Black people can’t be racist. Prejudiced, yes, but not racist. Racism describes a system of disadvantage based on race. Black people can’t be racist, since we don’t stand to benefit from such a system.”
Look, I’m not saying because you’re white, you should feel bad about yourself all the time. You shouldn’t. You’re probably a good person. I’m just saying, I better never hear you say, “They said I couldn’t dance because I’m white! They’re racists! They’re racists! They’re racists!”
Because that’s not racism. Prejudism, yes. But that’s not racism. Prejudism is not racism. You see, if I say, “White people don’t season their food.” It doesn’t affect the average white person. Okay, maybe Gordon Ramsey, but you get the point.
But if I say, “Black people love fried chicken.” It does affect the average black person, reinforcing black stereotypes.
People of color have always been oppressed. White people have not. And if you think they have, then that’s called white privilege. What’s “white privilege?” White privilege is when people of color finally gain power in politics and representation in media and then white people go, “Diversity is a code word for ‘white genocide.’”
“But if I tell the truth about the ongoing program of genocide against my race, the white race, anti-racist…anti-racist is code word for anti-white.”
White genocide? Really? The last time there was a white genocide, it was committed by another white person. For white people. Some of that bullshit.
White people are not oppressed. White people can’t understand racial oppression when they’ve never been in the context of experiencing racial oppression. Therefore, you cannot be racist towards white people. Reverse racism does not exist.
And don’t give me any of that, “There’s no such thing as reverse racism, it’s just racism” bullshit.
God dammit, what was this whole video about?
“But Damian, what about BET which exclusively only show shows made and stars Black people, or why is it Black Lives Matter not All Lives Matter, or why is there a Black and Hispanic history month but not a white history month?”
You want a channel where it’s predominantly or all white people? That’s literally almost every other TV channel.
And yes, of course, all lives do matter, but ignoring the fact that Black lives are in more danger than white lives and are still oppressed? That’s kind of ignorant.
Actually, that’s not kind of ignorant, that’s actually ignorant. And what do you want a white history month? That’s every fucking month!
